Famous Wine Regions . . . and More!

Constantia

This world-renowned wine growing region with her premium, award winning cool climate Sauvignon Blancs and Bordeaux Blends is just a short 20 minutes from the V&A Waterfront and 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. Nestled beneath Table Mountain National Park and commanding unsurpassed vistas of False Bay and the Constantiaberg & Table Mountain Ranges, lies this, the oldest wine-making region in the southern hemisphere. We will bring it alive with information, anecdotes and fun.

Stellenbosch

This region has the most wine producers of all the wine producing regions in Southern Africa and is probably the most famous. It is steeped in history and home to some of the country’s best known wine estates. All this yumminess lies just 40km east of Cape Town – a quick 45 minutes’ drive.  The university is the only one in South Africa with a viticultural and oenological department and is home to one of the most modern experimental wineries in the world.

Scenic Tours

South Africa and the Western Cape are world renowned for splendid scenery and views. We give you the opportunity of seeing and experiencing it all on our personalised customised, curated tours – crafted to suit your interests and pique your curiosity. We will make your Western Cape visit truly memorable. Our company motto says it all. Personal. Private. Unforgettable.

Durbanville

Just a short and sweet 20 minutes’ drive from Cape Town, Durbanville is perhaps best known for its outstanding flinty, herbaceous Sauvignon Blancs. However, you would be remiss if you didn’t take the time to try her fantastic red wines and MCC’s (Methode Cap Classique) as well.

Outstanding cool climate examples of Chardonnay, Shiraz, Pinotage and Merlot are also produced in this pretty little hilly wine area.

Swartland

This wine region with a difference lies a mere 65 kilometers north of Cape Town, named Swartland or ‘black country’ after the indigenous Renosterbos, which turns a dark colour at a certain time of the year, it could be argued that some of the most innovative wines are produced here. Traditionally a wheat-producing region, this area’s vineyards meander along the banks of the Berg River and up into the foothills of a number of imposing mountain ranges. Mountains that keep watch over the Swartland, producing a stark, constant blue/black  backdrop to the beautiful vineyards.

Franschhoek

Having been dubbed the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, Franschhoek’s food and wine route is beyond compare. The Valley of the Huguenots, as Franschhoek is also known, (a mere 50 minutes’ scenic drive from Cape Town) became home to a community of French Huguenots who fled their country from religious persecution. Some of the farms here date back many generations and exude an old-world charm, while others are modern and chic.

Paarl

This historical wine producing town lies a mesmerisingly scenic 45 minutes’ drive from Cape Town. The name means “pearl” and was named for the enchanting vision of the three iconic rounded granite outcroppings that form the top of Paarl Mountain, glistening with dew in the pale dawn light.

Paarl is the third-oldest European settlement in the country and the largest town in the Cape Winelands. The South African wine industry was centered here in this region through the massive KWV co-operative which still has huge influence in general terms.

Hermanus

Located southeast of Cape Town, in the Overberg District, Hermanus is renowned for being one of the most southerly wine-producing areas in South Africa. The vineyards are primarily situated in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, just 15 minutes west of the town of Hermanus.

Overall, the area is known for producing elegant, “cool climate” wines sustainably. The region is also popular for whale watching, making it a delightful destination for wine enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Robertson

The town lies in the Breede River Valley, approximately 100 miles (160 km) east of Cape Town. It is well-known for producing rich, fruit-driven red and white wines. Aromatic grape varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay thrive in Robertson’s cool climate and unique limestone derived soil types.

Several world-renowned sparkling wines (Method Cap Classique) are bottled in this area. The region’s unique terroir and diverse grape varieties contribute to its exceptional wine quality.

ELGIN

Located about 65 km southeast of Cape Town, boasts a cool maritime climate due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding mountains.

It is known for producing expressive fruit-driven wines. Key grape varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. Elgin’s unique terroir and cool climate contribute to its exceptional wine quality.

DARLING

This “Darling” of a town, situated 65 kilometers north of Cape Town (about an hour’s drive), is traditionally part of the Swartland Wine Region.

The wines have been deemed noteworthy enough that she has been awarded her very own wine route, which includes five wine cellars all of which benefit from the cool breezes coming off the Atlantic Ocean.

TULBAGH

The picturesque Tulbagh Valley is nestled in the heart of South Africa’s Winelands.

It is a charming region that is steeped in history, natural beauty, and exceptional wine. As we explore the rolling hills, verdant vineyards, and majestic Winterhoek Mountains, you’ll discover for yourself that Tulbagh is renowned for more thna just it’s wine!
